Are you ready to step into a world where the pages of classic literature come alive, not only in words, but in adventures you control? Welcome to Flintlock & Fog, the tabletop role-playing game that takes you to the gas-lit streets of the late 1800s, where the air is thick with mystery and the characters of your favorite novels walk the same alleys you do.
Dracula is not only a story that chills the spine. He can be an adversary or an unlikely ally. Frankenstein’s Monster can be a companion or a warning. In Flintlock & Fog you are not only reading those figures. You are living beside them, and the choices at the table can bend the tale.
Wield a flintlock against the things that hunt after dark, or spend the night navigating the foggy intrigue of Victorian society. The game sits where historical grit and literary fiction share the same street.
Gather your friends, roll the dice, and decide whether you solve the mystery before Holmes does, or uncover what even Jekyll left untouched.
Flintlock & Fog. New adventures for old stories.
How a table plays
Most nights run best with a Page Master and three to six players. Each player builds a character from a Study, then takes that person into investigations, drawing-room work, and fights that can turn ugly fast. The system was written for this period. It is not a reskin of another engine.
The rules live in the Official Players Manual.
The Team
W. David Lilley Jr.
David is an artist and writer living in Upstate New York with his wife and two dogs, Artoo and Mando. He is the owner of Pardon Will Artistry, the company behind his artistic projects and the creator of Flintlock & Fog.
David built Flintlock & Fog from a long love of the Victorian era and the tales that still shape how we see it. Rather than adapt another ruleset, he wrote an original system so the guns, the diseases, the Studies, and the literary figures would all belong to the same world.
Founder and creator
Seth Sanger
Seth is the Lead Creative Director for Flintlock & Fog. A classically trained artist and writer, he spends an unreasonable amount of time thinking about monsters, broken people, beautiful shadows, and the increasingly unreliable distinction between them. His work draws deeply from Victorian literature, particularly The Picture of Dorian Gray and Moby-Dick, and their fascination with obsession, consequence, and the peculiar architecture of the human soul. Less interested in heroes and villains than the strange space between them, his work lives somewhere between storytelling and excavation, digging into fear, beauty, grief, humor, and the uncomfortable truths of being human, in the hope that something uncovered there might be recognized by someone on the other side of the page. For Seth, art has never been decoration; it is exploration, therapy, and necessity, with deeper places left for those willing to wander into them.
Lead Creative Director
Mason James Brown / Mr. Bugg
Head of 3D Development and Design
Mason is Head of 3D Development and Design for Flintlock & Fog. A professional digital sculptor, he carves the object or the person into existence, and his immersive attention to detail is what brings it to life. That practice is fed by years of exploring worlds beyond, and by an expansive imagination that takes flight and soars above the mundane reality we are all trapped in. He has a meticulous eye, and from it a perspective that finds the beautiful in the smallest, meekest spot of a story, a sculpt, or a design. He adores a world where familiar settings bleed into the fantastical, and in his practice he makes the unimaginable corporeal.
